General

  1. How do I register?
    You can register online here. If you are having difficulty accessing the online form, please email Ms. Michelle Nguyen at michelletnguyen@mednet.ucla.edu or call 310-825-8253.
  2. Is the conference free?
    Yes, the conference is free and open to the public.
  3. How long is the conference?
    The conference is 8am-12:30pm.
  4. What does the conference program include?
    The conference will include poster sessions that will showcase the latest research on aging and lectures from a diverse collection of expert speakers in the field of Geriatric Medicine and related disciplines.  All of the lectures will conclude with an audience question and answer session.   5. Where is the conference located?
    The conference is located centrally in the UCLA campus at Ackerman Grand Ballroom (Ackerman Union, Level 2). The address is 308 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095.
  6. What are the directions to UCLA?
    From the 405 Freeway, exit on Sunset Boulevard and continue east about 1.5 miles to the Westwood Plaza entrance of campus. Turn right onto Westwood Plaza and continue straight ahead to the ramp leading underground to Parking Structure 4. You may also enter 221 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095 in your GPS for guided directions to the parking structure. From Parking Structure 4, take the elevators up to the main level and follow the walkway towards Ackerman Union. Take the elevator inside the UCLA Store up to Level 2. Ackerman Grand Ballroom will be on your right.
  7. Where do I park?
    Parking is available in Parking Structure 4, which is an underground parking structure, accessible via Sunset Blvd. The address of the parking structure is 221 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095. The daily parking rate is $12 for all-day parking. Click here for a map and directions.
  8. Is the venue handicap accessible?
    Yes, there is an elevator inside the UCLA Store that will lead you Ackerman Grand Ballroom on Level 2. If you would like to be dropped off, please contact Ms. Michelle Nguyen for detailed instructions.

Poster Presentations

  1. Am I eligible? Do I need to be affiliated with UCLA?
    All research faculty, fellows, students, and community research partners are invited to submit abstracts for inclusion in the poster session. You do not need to be a UCLA student or faculty.
  2. How do I submit an abstract?
    Abstracts must be submitted online here.
    • The text of the abstract must be 250 words or less.
    • Must include a Purpose/Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
    • Text only. No graphics or tables.
  3. What is the deadline?
    The deadline for submission is April 21st, 2017. You will be notified of acceptance within a week of the deadline.
  4. May I submit more than one abstract?
    Yes, you may submit multiple abstracts.
  5. What are the presentation guidelines?
    Please plan on arriving at the venue 10-15 minute before the conference start time to allow for check-in. You must be present for the full duration of your scheduled poster session.
  6. What is the presentation format?
    There will be two separate poster sessions, lasting 1 hour each. You will be notified of your assigned poster session by email, a week before the conference.
